Network engineer / Integration engineer in a telecom solutions provider

Our client is a leading (international) telecom solutions provider, located in Amsterdam. They establish end-to-end advantages in telecom network infrastructure, application & software, devices and professional services.

As part of the integration team, you will be responsible for the technical implementation of the high bandwidth links for one of the key customers. You will be situated in the central office located in Amsterdam.

As integration engineer you will be responsible for the technical implementation of the assigned projects. Projects will be assigned by use of a workflow manager that our client uses for the operational roll out. It is of high importance that all assigned task to the integration engineer are updated consequently due to the agreed KPI’s with the end customer.

Before the handover towards the customer, all test documents and checklist should be complete and available within the project folder. The Management system needs to be configured correctly and optical powers should be within specification. Our client is using Optix Metro 6040/6100, and the Network Management System T2000/T2100.

Key Tasks;

• Coordinate & Supervise Partner Engineer to finish the On-site commissioning & Acceptance Test;
• Integration & Remote Commissioning WDM Product on T2000/T2100;
• Guide & Supervising On-site testing process & result;
• Technical Trouble Shooting during commissioning phase.

Description of workload and environment;

You will be located in Amsterdam, it is a full time job 8 hours per day but they do not expect a 9 – 5 mentality. As part of a team flexibility is required but will also be possible as long as the customer and work will not be in jeopardy.

• 40 hours per week, no 9 – 5 mentality,
• Willing to due overtime if required,
• Work difficulties: Working on a large Live WDM Network, Care & Attention is needed at all times.
• Good English communication skills (both verbal and writing)

Working performance evaluation methods;

There will be a senior commissioning engineer in the team supervising the daily working process & results. After a trial period, the working performance will mainly depend on technical growth, efficiency, quality, comment from Partner & Customer.

As part of the acceptance team, you should be able to trouble shoot minor issues and escalate to next level when necessary. Good customer facing skills, a disciplined worker with high analytical abilities, and multi-tasking abilities. You have good communication skills and your English is fluent (both spoken and written). Speaking and or understanding at least basic Dutch is a prerequisite.

• NOC engineer experience would be preferential

Experience in at least one of the following; PDH/SDH/WDM technologies. You have at least education on an (MBO+) HBO level. And you have been working with Network management Applications or have a strong affinity with ICT systems. Knowledge of GE/10GE/FC and IP would be an advantage.

We are looking for both candidates with a minimum of 1 year experience in ICT/Telecom and more experienced candidates (5-8 years experience).

Salary

Depending on your experience and education you will receive a salary between €2500,- and €4000,- gross per month. Futhermore you have an excellent growth path and extra beneficials.
