The Technical Applications Department in Best provides solutions and support to a large number of end users in the area of mechanical engineering, electrical engineering and software engineering. The Technical Applications department in Best is part of a global TAGCC organisation. The TAGCC organisation is responsible for the delivery of services to all major R&D engineering disciplines, Software, Mechanics and Electronics, for the functional areas of applications, libraries, archives and their environments, i.e. the "toolkit of the engineers".

The customers (+/- 2600 currently) are all the Philips Healthcare Business Units development departments including their worldwide interfaces with non engineering Philips Healthcare disciplines and non Philips Healthcare collaboration partners. The current TAGCC organisation consists of six departments located in Bangalore, Suzhou, Best, Bothell, Cleveland, Hamburg, Haifa, San Jose reporting to site business R&D managers and on Philips Healthcare level to the Global Development Management.  You will be part of a local team of 40 employees and a global team of 120.

Your Responsibilities:
As an Application Engineer Software you are responsible for:

• Performing feasability studies regarding software development methods, techniques and tools.
• Specification, design and implementation of new software development tools or customizations of software development tools.
• Support and training end-users with regard to software development tools.
• Innovation projects to improve the software development environment within Philips Healthcare.
• Functioning as a source of knowledge and working together with Development groups on the use of methods, techniques and tools.
• Improving the internal processes.

Your Profile:
To be successful in this role, your profile includes:

• Bachelor (HBO) degree Computer Science/InformationTechnology with minimum of 3 years relevant work experience
• Broad experience with software development within R&D department
• Experience with working in a service-oriented environment
• Extensive experience using the Software Engineering Applications like IBM Rational Tool Suite, Visual Studio
• Platform knowledge (one or more) of Windows, Unix, VAX/VMS
• Customer focus, being pro-active and innovative
• Good communication skills (Dutch and English)
